System Requirements and Accessing the UWB


Concept

In this topic, you will see how to create a shortcut to the UWB.


Steps:

  1. The UWB requires internet browser version IE10 or higher. 

     

    From the Internet Help Menu, click Help.

  2. The What’s New in Internet Explorer 10 listed on the menu displays the IE version. 

     

    NOTE:  If you do not have IE10 as your browser version, please submit a Service First request for installation upgrade.

     

    Click the Close button, to close the internet browser.

  3. You MUST BE connected to the First American network in order to access the UWB.

    Step 3

  4. Access to the UWB can be made from either a desktop shortcut or an internet browser favorite.

     

    Examples on how to create both methods are covered in this training topic.

     

    The UWB web address is http://uwb.firstam.net.

    Step 4

  5. Right-click in a blank area of your Desktop.

    Step 5

  6. A shortcut menu displays.

     

    Point to the New menu.

  7. Click the Shortcut menu item.

    Step 7

  8. The Create Shortcut dialog box opens.

     

    NOTE: The URL can also be manually typed into this location.

     

    Right-click in the Type the location of the item: field.

  9. A shortcut menu displays.

     

    In this example, the UWB web address has been copied to the clipboard. 

     

    Click the Paste menu item to paste the UWB web address you copied to the clipboard.

  10. Click the Next button.

  11. You can enter a new name for the shortcut.

     

    In this example, enter "UWB".

  12. Click the Finish button.

  13. The UWB shortcut displays on the Desktop.

     

    Double-click the UWB shortcut.

  14. The UWB home page displays.
